Our first destination was Mom and Dad's where we got some much needed relaxation and family time. We had the opportunity to attend church and one of their Bible Study's with them. It was so fun to meet with the people I hear Mom talk about on a regular basis.
The initial plan was to leave for our trip early Friday morning, but true to Garland form, we just couldn't wait for that! Once my brother-in-law was finished with his class we headed out Thursday evening, this enabled us to get to our first stop with plenty of time to swim and enjoy the water slide! Another day and a half of driving brought us to our campsite! At first we were concerned we wouldn't find enough spots close together because the sign outside our favorite campground said it was full, fortunately that was old information and we found some wonderful sites all in a row!

Mom and Dad's was the hub of events. |

The cooking station! |

The view from our sites. |
Once we got set up and had lunch we headed down to the creek that gives the campground its name, Avalanche Creek!

The water was really cold! |

Enjoying the colorful rocks |
Avalanche creek is one of the highlights of my trip! The water is so crystal clear you can see everything on the bottom, and what a show it is! There are multitudes of colorful rocks that have been polished smooth. sadly they aren't as pretty out of the water.
No camping trip would be complete without roasting marshmallows right? Mom bought some massive marshmallows for this year's trip and Alex LOVED them, so much so that they got everywhere!
That's all part of the fun of learning how to eat new treats though!
