Grand Getaway: Part 2

On our second day it was time to hike!  Chris and I had to split up for this hike because he was going on the Highline with Dad and the big kids.  We decided that 18 miles, roughly 3,000 feet in elevation change and snow on some of the more dangerous parts probably wasn't the most responsible thing for me to do at four months pregnant!  But there was nothing keeping Chris from doing it again!  Here's a very limited selection from their hike!

One of the scary parts! The dropoff is really steep!

Flowers in the mountains are always such sweet surprises.

The men on the glacier pack!

Where there's snow...

The continental divide!

My Dad is pretty much epic!

While they were on their big hike, Mom, Alex, the girls and I took a smaller hike to Hidden Lake and back.  There was a lot more snow on than the last time mom did this hike and it made a couple sections tricky to maneuver, but the vistas were so worth it, and we got to see goats!

Apparently that fur is hot, she was headed for a snow bath!

We watched this little family climb up a cliff...

And make their selves at home...

I don't think I'd be comfy on this cliff...

Hidden Lake still had ice, in August!
After this we drove over to Many Glacier to eat dinner and wait for the hard core hikers to come through!  It was a full day for all and we are so thankful that everyone made it through safely!
