Spicy Experiment

Chris really enjoys eating spicy food and has even more fun making spicy food.  One of the men we work with at the farm introduced him to a salsa or sauce made from Datil peppers.  Datil peppers rank right up there with Habaneros and are in fact one of the parents used to breed the legendary pepper.  Chris liked the salsa so much that our friend offered him the recipe and a bag full of Datils! 

Chris was so anxious to make his own that he started dicing the peppers without gloves!  He won't do that again!  Time and some rubbing alcohol helped the burning enough for him to finish the next day with gloves. 

It turned out just like he hoped, sadly he had to wait until we got to my parents before he could find someone to enjoy it with him. My brothers love hot stuff and are always pushing their limits as to what they can handle, so Chris was excited to share his recipe with them.  After a few tastes one was still wanting more and the other two were running for a glass of milk!
